This is a waterless, anhydrous cream-butter. Every percentage of the formula is active, functional, and concentrated. No water to dilute it. No preservatives needed to stabilise a water phase. Just a dense, purposeful blend of organic plant butters, botanical oils, and skin-identical actives that work in full concentration from the first application.

Formulated by a certified organic skincare formulator, the base is built on three butters: organic Shea for deep, sustained nourishment; Kokum for barrier strength and sealing; and Mango Butter for its exceptional ability to soften and restore skin suppleness. Layered with a precision oil complex of Camellia, Jojoba, Squalane, and Rosehip Oil, the formula supports elasticity, encourages collagen renewal, and delivers moisture that genuinely lasts.

Co-Q10 is present at 2% as a liposomal blend, not standard CoQ10 oil, but ubiquinone encapsulated in phospholipid nano-emulsion vesicles alongside Vitamin A and two forms of Vitamin E. This delivery technology protects the active until it reaches the skin, then dramatically enhances penetration so it works at a cellular level. Bisabolol calms. Sunflower Lecithin ensures every active reaches where it is needed most. Hemp Seed Oil, with its near-perfect 3:1 omega-6 to omega-3 ratio, balances and supports a compromised skin barrier.

The scent is warm, botanical, and grounding: ylang-ylang, sweet orange, frankincense, and ginger, all essential oils held below 0.30% of the total formula for a non-irritating, sensorial finish. No synthetic fragrance. No compromise.

Why Waterless?

Most skincare products contain 60–80% water. Water adds volume and creates familiar light textures, but it also dilutes every active ingredient and requires preservatives to prevent microbial growth. A waterless formula contains none of that. Every percentage is functional. No fillers. No dilution.

For very dry and mature skin there is a practical advantage too: waterless formulas do not evaporate. Applying water-based products to already-dehydrated skin can accelerate moisture loss as the water phase evaporates and draws hydration with it. Waterless formulas seal, replenish, and stay.

Co-Q10 Liposomal  | Ubiquinone + Vitamin A + Tocopheryl Acetate + Tocopherol

Not standard CoQ10. Ubiquinone is encapsulated in phospholipid nano-emulsion vesicles with Vitamin A and two forms of Vitamin E. Penetrates the skin barrier at a cellular level to reinforce collagen, neutralise free radicals, and restore skin energy and firmness. CoQ10 declines with age; restoring it topically supports resilience from within. At 2%, within the supplier’s recommended effective range of 1–3%.

Squalane  | Squalane (olive-derived)

Skin-identical and olive-derived. Mirrors the skin’s own sebum, absorbs without occlusion, and delivers exceptional softness and moisture retention without greasiness. Particularly beneficial for mature skin where natural squalene production has declined.

Organic shea butter  | Butyrospermum Parkii Butter (organic)

The dominant base butter. Rich in oleic and stearic fatty acids for deep, long-lasting nourishment. Organic shea retains higher concentrations of triterpenes, compounds with documented anti-inflammatory and skin-healing properties.

Camellia oil  | Camellia Oleifera Seed Oil

Exceptionally high in oleic acid and deeply compatible with skin’s natural lipid structure. Improves elasticity and surface texture; central to Japanese skincare for centuries for its ability to nourish without disrupting the barrier.

Mango butter  | Mangifera Indica Seed Butter

High in stearic and oleic acid with a lighter skin feel than most hard butters. Softens rough or thickened skin, improves elasticity, and melts beautifully on contact, contributing directly to the smooth, scoopable texture.

Kokum butter  | Garcinia Indica Seed Butter

One of the hardest natural butters. High stearic acid content seals the skin’s protective layer, locks in moisture, and soothes dry, cracked, or compromised skin, without clogging pores.

Hemp seed oil  | Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil

Rich in GLA and a near-perfect 3:1 omega-6 to omega-3 ratio that mirrors healthy skin lipid composition. Calms inflammation, supports the barrier, and is particularly beneficial for dry, sensitive, and eczema-prone skin.

Sunflower lecithin  | Helianthus Annuus Seed Extract

A skin-identical phospholipid serving two roles: reinforces the skin barrier and acts as a natural penetration enhancer, ensuring actives, especially Co-Q10 and Rosehip, reach deeper skin layers where they perform best.

Bisabolol  | Alpha-Bisabolol

FAQ

Is Elastan Bio suitable for the face?

Yes. The formula is designed for both face and body. Warm a pea-sized amount between the palms and press gently into the skin. Despite its richness, the combination of non-comedogenic oils including Squalane and Jojoba means it absorbs without leaving a heavy film on normal-to-dry skin types.

Will it feel greasy?

No. The texture is dense when scooped, but melts immediately on skin contact. Squalane at 14% and Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides ensure a smooth, velvety finish, nourished and not coated. For oily skin types, use a smaller amount focused on dry areas only.

Can it be used as a body butter?

Yes, and this is one of its strengths. The formula is intentionally unisex and sized for both face and body. Apply a hazelnut-sized amount to very dry areas like elbows, knees, and heels. It works especially well as a post-shower treatment on slightly damp skin to seal in moisture.

Is it safe for sensitive skin?

Yes. There is no synthetic fragrance in this formula. The scent comes entirely from four essential oils (ylang-ylang, sweet orange, frankincense, and ginger), held at a combined 0.30% of the total formula, well within safe limits for most sensitive skin. Bisabolol is included specifically to support calm and reduce reactivity. Patch testing is always recommended for new products.

What makes this different from a regular body butter?

Three things: the waterless format, the active ingredient load, and the face-safe formulation. Most commercial body butters are water-in-oil emulsions with 40–60% water content. Elastan Bio is 100% active ingredients: no water, no dilution. Liposomal Co-Q10 at 2%, Rosehip Oil at 5%, and Sunflower Lecithin as a penetration enhancer make it function more like a treatment than a standard moisturiser. The oil selection (Camellia, Squalane, Jojoba) makes it genuinely appropriate for the face, not just the body.

How should I store it?

Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C, away from direct sunlight and heat. Like all shea-based natural butters, this product may soften in warm conditions. This is normal and does not affect quality or efficacy. If it softens, refrigerate for 20–30 minutes to restore texture. Do not store in a hot vehicle or in direct sun.
